About Dr. Lisa A. Taylor

I am Dr. Lisa Taylor, a licensed clinical psychologist with over a decade of experience in helping individuals navigate life's challenges with compassion and expertise. My practice focuses on supporting young adults, adults, and older adults through various mental health issues, including health challenges, anxiety, loss and grief, depression, aging, life transitions, and caregiver support.

Like many who enter the field of psychology, my journey began with a deep desire to help people. However, my passion goes beyond this. I have always been an old soul, someone who loves to listen and is genuinely curious about others. From a young age, I discovered my gift for being able to sit with people during difficult times. Through my education, training, personal and professional experiences, I developed the skills to not only be present with those in need but also to actively support them on their journey.

At Sudbury Psychology Services, I offer personalized telehealth services to ensure accessible and convenient care, with plans to provide in-person services in the future. This flexibility allows me to support clients regardless of their location (in MA), maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and care.

My mission at Sudbury Psychology Services is to provide high-quality, compassionate, individualized, and evidence-based psychotherapy to support and empower our clients. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, or the psychological impacts of a health condition, I am here to support you on your journey to better mental health.

I am proud to be on the board of Junie's Place, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support and resources to individuals experiencing grief and loss. Additionally, throughout my career, I have been involved in numerous boards and committees aimed at improving community health. My work on multiple research projects and program development initiatives reflects my commitment to advancing the field of psychology and better serving the community.

I am deeply committed to promoting diversity and inclusion within my practice and the broader community. I have completed Safe Zone training and believe that embracing diverse perspectives and experiences enriches our understanding and enhances the quality of care we provide. At Sudbury Psychology Services, everyone is welcome and respected.

Dr. Lisa A Taylor Clinical Psychologist

I hold a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University and completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Central Florida, graduating magna cum laude with a B.S. in Psychology. Throughout my career, I have worked in diverse clinical settings, including hospitals, inpatient and outpatient care, in-home care, acute medical rehabs, long-term medical care units, and hospice and palliative care. These experiences have provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of mental health and medical conditions across various contexts. I have specialty training in health settings, physical rehabilitation, geriatric care, grief, caregiver support, dementia education, palliative, and hospice care. I not only provide quality psychological care but also train psychology doctoral students. Additionally, I have organized and conducted numerous educational conference and presentations across multiple disciplines within the medical field, reaching both professional and the general public.

My decision to start my own practice stemmed from my experiences working within large systems that often fell short in understanding and providing specialty care. I believed I could offer something better, and I strive to achieve that every day. At the core of my practice is a commitment to patient-centered care, ensuring that every individual feels valued and understood. My practice is built on the core value of providing high-quality care to those who prioritize their mental health. I am dedicated to making a difference in the lives of my clients, helping them navigate their challenges with empathy and expertise.

I extend my services beyond individuals experiencing health conditions and older adults to include those dealing with anxiety and depression. My broad range of experience equips me to address various mental health concerns, with specialty training and interest in supporting diverse populations. I utilize various evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Meaning Centered Psychotherapy (MCP), Later-Adulthood Trauma Reengagement (LATR), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), mindfulness techniques, Dignity Therapy, grief counseling, relaxation therapy, and brief psychological interventions for mood disorders, sleep issues, medication management/adherence, caregiver stress, and cognitive decline.
