Caregiver Therapy in Sudbury, MA

Helping caregivers find relief from exhaustion, guilt, and overwhelm so they can care for their loved ones without neglecting themselves.

Balancing Love and Self-Care

Compassionate Support for Caregivers: Your Well-Being Matters Too

You spend your days caring for others, managing meals, medications, doctor’s appointments, and the countless little moments in between. While caregiving is an act of deep love, it can also be physically and emotionally exhausting, leading to burnout and feelings of guilt.

You give your all, leaving you feeling overwhelmed and lonely. It’s easy to put your own well-being last, but taking care of yourself isn’t selfish, it’s essential.

If you’re feeling stretched too thin, overwhelmed, or losing yourself in the process, therapy can help. Caregiver therapy provides relief, support, and strategies to set healthy boundaries, manage stress, and regain a sense of balance, so you can care for your loved one without losing yourself.

The Emotional Toll of Caregiving

What Is Caregiver Therapy?

A young woman is standing next to an older woman on a couch.

Caregiving is a demanding and emotional role that often leads to stress, burnout, and potential self-neglect. You may feel pressure to always be available, push through exhaustion, and never ask for help, but that’s not sustainable. At Sudbury Psychology Services, I provide dedicated support for caregivers of all ages and backgrounds, including those caring for:

  • Aging parents with dementia or declining health
  • A spouse with a chronic illness or disability
  • Loved ones in palliative or hospice care
  • Sandwich caregivers, balancing care for both younger and older generations

Therapy helps you manage stress, set boundaries, and maintain your own well-being, so you can continue caring without losing yourself in the process.

Meet Dr. Lisa Taylor:

Your Caregiver Therapy Specialist

For over a decade, I’ve worked with caregivers just like you, people who love deeply but feel overwhelmed by the constant demands of caring for someone else. With a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology and specialized training in health psychology, grief, and caregiver support, I understand the emotional and physical toll caregiving takes.

But beyond my training, I know what you need isn’t just strategies, you need someone who truly gets it. My approach is warm, compassionate, and practical. I create a space where you can talk about the exhaustion, the frustration, and even the guilt without feeling judged. My goal is to help you care for yourself just as much as you care for others.

Your Well-Being Matters Too

You Can’t Pour from an Empty Cup

When you’re a caregiver, it’s easy to put yourself last. You tell yourself you’ll rest later, that you can push through, that asking for help is a luxury you can’t afford. But over time, exhaustion takes its toll. The longer you go without support, the harder it becomes to show up as the caregiver, partner, or family member you want to be.

Therapy helps you feel lighter, stronger, and more in control. It’s a place to breathe, process emotions, and remember that your well-being matters too. Imagine waking up rested instead of drained, setting boundaries without guilt, and finding moments of peace in your daily life.
